Nestled in this story of Sadie, an unwanted child sent to harsh orphanage, are brilliant gems to help children ( of all ages!) to unlock fears, anxieties and sadnesses and find self-confidence and joy in difficult times. Sadie’s guardian angel, Myla, can only help Sadie when she asks, so it is Jem, a tiny orphan on crutches and a loving friend who helps Sadie to connect with her Angel. This compelling story has charming illustrations by the author who is a writer of both children's books and and children’s TV series. She draws on her experiences as an Assertiveness Trainer and Life Coach. It is a welcome story about the power of love and caring. Pat CeccarelliA Touching Story About Hope, Trust And Courage - Lena
What a touching story about finding love and light even in the darkest moments. About a deep friendship, about hope, trust and courage. This is definetly a story for every age. I really enjoyed reading this book. It left in me a feeling of being grateful and empowered. Sadies and Mylas tale reminds you that everything is possible and miracles can happen if you truly believe in it. And that you are guided and loved by your guardian angel. And if you trust that she/he is always on your side and will support you in every step you take, there is nothing you have to be scared of. Like Jem says: „When there is something scary, I just imagine my guardian angel standing behind me, with his wings around my shoulders, protecting me, then I am not scared anymore.“A Magical Tale With Magical Pictures – Laura Gascoigne
This large-format book is more expensive than most children's stories, but well worth the investment. The illustrations (credited to the story's heroine Sadie) have the naive charm of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry's drawings for The Little Prince, and the narrative is a page-turner with layers of meaning that will appeal to children and adults alike. You could see the role of Myla in Sadie's life as metaphorical, or you could start believing in guardian angels...It Gave Me So Much - Viveka
I so liked Everything with the book. The way Virginia put the content together in certain pieces. The way she builds up the story and you as the reader slowly get in to the context and get the feeling for the different characters, the small details, the small angels and feathers. And the drawings! I loved them! Fit so good to the story. I so recommend this book, even though it's a children book I so appreciated it, and I'll fond find a grandchild to read it for. Or why? It gave me so much!Because it touched me very much and made me remember my childhood as well, so I recommend it a lot!An Incredibly Powerful Story – Dante Florence
A beautiful lovingly made children's book, which tells a timeless story of hope in times of despair, light in times of darkness and how we all have our own MYLA (my little angel) to call upon. A truly empowering read which gives a brilliant message to those both young and old. Even though it may appear to be just for kids, like Harry Potter (and all truly great stories) Sadie and Myla is highly enjoyable for all ages!A Child’s Journey From Abandonment To Happiness Through Friendship With A Little Help From An Angel - Mark Revelle
A child's journey from abandonment to happiness through friendship with a little help from an angel. This is a beautifully-presented story of a small child, Sadie. It relates her journey from abandonment through a series of challenges to happiness, thanks in part to the kindness of strangers - of whom the most important is Myla, her guardian angel - and in part to her own innocent honesty. Sadie never loses sight of the values of trust, kindness and care for others despite the ill-treatment she herself experienced from birth. The story is simply written, as though a child had produced it, and the naif, coloured drawings are perfect. This is as much a morality story as a fairy tale, and it celebrates the triumph of goodness over meanness, of hope over despair and of trust over fear. Sadie faces real and difficult challenges in trying to cope with a generally hostile world and she comes through, having learned to love herself for herself, with Myla's help. It is an uplifting story, very well-paced, which holds the reader's attention until the (happy) end. It's a surprisingly powerful book which tackles serious issues head on, yet is lit with optimism as the heroine discovers the value of friendship. I have bought one copy for my nine year old granddaughter, and one for her friend.A Wonderful Book ! - Edith Knipschild
